Guitarist • Recording Artist • Producer

Jubu is a legendary guitarist, soulful artist, and visionary whose tone speaks louder than words. With over 25 years as the lead guitarist for Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and his early work with Tony! Toni! Toné!, Jubu has built a legacy that spans decades, genres, and generations. His sound is warm, raw, spiritual, and unmistakably his own — rooted in the gospel church and polished on the world’s biggest stages.

Raised in Oakland, California, Jubu’s journey from local musician to global collaborator is grounded in both excellence and humility. He has recorded or performed with a hall of fame roster: Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Boyz II Men, Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, Toni Braxton, and George Duke, among others. Yet despite the spotlight, Jubu remains deeply connected to his roots — a quiet powerhouse whose presence speaks through every note he plays.

As co-founding member of the acclaimed gospel group The Soul Seekers, Jubu’s contributions to music have also earned him several prestigious honors. He was a recipient of BET’s Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award for his work with Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, and he is a multiple-time Grammy contributor. In 2023, he received the Living Legend Award in recognition of his influence, integrity, and longstanding contributions to Black music, gospel, and soul.

He is also the founder of Legally Blynd, a dynamic group known for fusing funk, soul, and quartet into high-energy, instrument-driven performances. In 2024, Jubu released his self-titled solo album under Little Village Foundation, produced by Charlie Hunter and featuring guest appearances by Eric Gales. With standout tracks like “Hamster Wheel” and “Totally Converted,” the project marks a new chapter in his artistry — raw, honest, and deeply personal.

Whether he’s on stage or in the studio, Jubu brings more than just skill — he brings heart. Audiences don’t just admire his talent; they love his humility, his strength, and the soul he pours into every performance. He’s a musician’s musician and a man of integrity — someone whose legacy is being written not just in riffs, but in the lives he impacts along the way.

From sold-out shows to intimate performances, from gospel choirs to Grammy-winning collaborations, Jubu is a legacy in motion.
